Pete James - Bass

With the recruitment of new drummer Flash, Pete is no longer the oldest member of the band, something which has delighted him so much since Flash joined, he just can't help but remind Flash at every opportunity. Pete earned the nicked "Dad", not just because he is a proud father, but very good at embarrasing teenagers with his dancing.

Pete has almost 30 years musical experience, first picking up a pair of drumsticks aged 10 and playing drums until he was 16 (a very long 6 years and we understand his arms got very tired), supporting signed bands in London. At 16 he started playing guitar, badly, and so turned to the bass over 20 years ago. He has been in a number of original bands with varying degrees of success and his most notable achievements include being signed to Chromium Records and opening Leicester's Abbey Park festival. His musical foundation is old-school rock and his influences include bands and artists such as Marillion, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin and Metallica as well as David Bowie and the Police. Pete can also been found playing bass with ex-Factory records artist and local legend Kevin Hewick in 'Hewick, Haynes and James".

Pete has been featured on television and radio and assures us that he was never involved in the making of any episodes of Crimewatch. From South Wigston, Leicester, Pete has years of stage and studio experience and favours vintage Japanese-made Westone basses, once owning a full set of "Thunder" series basses (I, IA, II, IIA, III and Jet versions) as well as an Epiphone EB-3 and a BC Rich Beast. His Trace Elliot amplifier and cabinet are ideal for venues of all sizes.

The proprietor of Leicester's best rehearsal facility, Pete is also the band's technical expert and has a wide range of hammers for all applications.
