Mark "Flash" Haynes

Coalville born Leicester resident and the band new-boy, Flash joined the Veneers in 2009, stealing Pete's crown as the oldest member of the band, a fact he is reminded of on an almost daily basis! Arguably the most rock 'n' roll member of the band, Flash has worked as stage manager for several acts at Wembley Stadium, has experience as drum tech, enjoyed (Russian) chart success drumming for the band Ist and fallen asleep in a phone box.

Influenced by drummers such as Mitch Mitchell, Ginger Baker and Stuart Copeland at the age of 11 (long before the internet was invented, around the birth of rock 'n' roll!), Flash was taught the rudiments of jazz, pop, blues and rock by his dad and the Sid Bent drum school and never looked back. Earning his name not from his drumming style or prowess, but from his uncanny resemblance to the dog from the Dukes Of Hazzard, Flash is a professional drummer taking the drum stool as a full time member in several bands, whilst finding the time to play on many sessions and running small drum school in Leicester city centre. He makes up the rhythm section along with Pete in Hewick, Haynes and James and has been involved with projects featuring Gaz Birtles (Beautiful South), Frank (Fun Lovin' Criminals), Melvin Duffy (Robbie Williams band), Jim Bob (Carter USM), Hawkwind, Diesel Park West and Guana Batz.

Attending many festivals in a professional capacity, Flash has walked into Seastick Steve (literally - we are to understand the bluesman was taken aback and not very happy) and, at the wedding of Hawkwind's guitarist, he managed to break two ribs (although we are still not clear on whose ribs they were).

Flash has artist endorsements with Pellwood sticks, Baskey and and BigDog drum hardware.
